This Privacy Policy explains how DevMind Consulting LLC (“DevMind”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you visit devmind.llc (the “Site”), use our CopyDown app for macOS (“CopyDown” or the “App”), or work with us on consulting projects. We aim to collect as little as possible.
1. This website
The Site is a static website. We do not use cookies, advertising, or analytics trackers, and we do not ask you to create an account.
The Site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the Site and protect it from abuse. This information is handled under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The Site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and styling scripts from a public content delivery network, which may receive your IP address when your browser requests those files.
The interactive demo on our home page runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you copy into it is sent to us.
2. CopyDown for Mac
CopyDown is designed to work entirely on your Mac. It has no account, no cloud sync, and no tracking.
- Clipboard. CopyDown reads what you copy only while capture mode is on. On macOS 15.4 and later, macOS asks for your permission (“Paste from Other Apps”) the first time.
- Screenshots. CopyDown takes a screenshot only when you press the Capture screenshot shortcut and drag over an area. It uses the Screen & System Audio Recording permission for this purpose only and never records your screen in the background.
- Storage. Your groups, notes and settings are stored locally on your Mac so they survive restarts. They are not transmitted to DevMind or any third party.
- Analytics. CopyDown does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. If you download CopyDown from the Mac App Store, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized statistics and crash reports if you have chosen to share them with developers in your Mac settings.
- Feedback. If you use Give Feedback or email us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address and message.
You can delete all CopyDown data at any time by clearing your groups in the App or deleting the App.
3. When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, name (if provided) and the contents of your message. We use this only to reply, provide support, and keep a record of our correspondence.
4. Consulting clients
When we provide consulting services, we process business contact details and any information you share with us to deliver the work. Client data is handled according to the confidentiality and data-processing terms in our agreement with you, which take precedence over this policy for that data.
5. Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only:
- with service providers that help us operate (for example, website hosting and email), under appropriate confidentiality obligations;
- when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of DevMind, our users or others;
- in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will ask the recipient to honor this policy.
6. Retention & security
We keep correspondence only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. Children
Our Site and products are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes affecting CopyDown will also be noted in the App’s release notes.
